There is only one generation between my grandfather, who sold candy in the streets of Mexico, and myself, who earned the highest academic degree from a prestigious university in the United States. At the center of it all was my mother, whose courage and vision changed the course of our family’s future. I vividly remember sitting beside her in college classes, where her dedication to learning and her nurturing example of hard work sparked my own love for education. These experiences became the foundation of my lifelong commitment to fostering emotional growth, grit, and resilience in young minds.
Being born in Monterrey, Mexico, my childhood blossomed into a life full of wonder and boundless imagination. From an early age, I dreamed about making a difference in the lives of children across the world. At the age of 12, I moved to the United States, where my academic dreams culminated in earning my PhD in Human Development and Family Sciences.
What drives my work every day is witnessing the power of dreams rooted in unwavering conviction. My mother had every reason to give in to her circumstances, but her dreams spoke louder than the statistics, the systems, and the voices that said otherwise. By letting conviction drive her dreams, she broke cycles and set a legacy in motion that will ripple for generations.
Through my 10+ years of working closely with families and exploring the depths of emotional growth, I have witnessed the incredible power of these early lessons in laying the foundation for lifelong success and emotional well-being. That is where my story begins, and today, it is an honor to serve San Antonio families, walking alongside them as they build their own legacies of hope, education, and resilience.
